So. . . It's been a while!

I feel like I need to apologise for my complete lack of Tweeting, blogging even Facebook-ing!

I do have an excuse of sorts. . . Any of you who may actually know me may be aware that I am prone to have quite an addictive personality, so this is what I've been doing for the past few weeks (and working of course)

I'm almost at an end of A Dance With Dragons and feel quite upset that there are still two left in the series that haven't been written yet!

In my time away I also read the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series. Both that and The Game of Thrones I seriously recommend to anyone who has the patience to read them all!

Anywhooo. . . Normal service will be resumed soon, hopefully the big launch will be good to go when I get back from my holiday in three weeks!

For now, hope everyone is well. . . It seems I have a lot of catching up to do with my social networking!!

Owls & Eagles . . .

I thought I would deviate from the latest line of blog posts and do one on some of the things I've recently been up to!

I'll be quiet over the weekend as I'm off to a festival with Alex! Hevy Festival in Kent, on a wildlife park!! Very, very excited for a four day weekend and some loud music!

On another note, here is a new necklace I bought last week, total bargain at £3 from a shop called Rowfers in Afflecks

Also, thought I would show another picture of a necklace a friend bought me for my birthday a while back, I love it!

Finally, hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and fingers crossed the weather is glorious!

Official Logo

Well then, for those of you that have shown and interest in Wolf Among Sheep I can now reveal our beautiful logo(s) that have been designed by the amazing Helen . . .

Aren't they cute?

I'd just like to say a quick thanks to those few who have offered advice, tips and encouragement, it means a lot! Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer for me to start selling!

Stay tuned. . .

Sneaky previews. . . .

And there you have it! The first four materials purchased for Wolf Among Sheep skirts!

As you can see there is a black and white gingham material, a red and white stripey jersey material, red and white polka dot chiffon-esque material and a blue spotty type with red telephones and clocks on it!

So far three have been made up. . . So if any of you would prefer a skirt in a particular material then send me a message and tell me what size to make it!!

Everything is running pretty smoothly at the minute, a logo is in the process of being drawn, the pieces are coming together nicely. . . Hope you're all as excited as I am!!

Hope you approve of the material choices and don't forget to spread the word! Follow us here WolfAmongSheep1

Poorly drawn ideas. . .

I thought that instead of just talking about what is going to be made for Wolf Among Sheep that I would (crudely) put together a couple of sketches of the design I'm going for initially.

So here they are. . . And as was implied above, they aren't the best!

These are both pleated skirts with a thick elastic waist band. . . Obviously these pictures don't give away a whole lot, but you get the idea?

I'm off shopping this weekend to buy a range of fabrics, so expect: spotty, stripey, plain, longer lengths, shorter lengths, bright & bold, plain & simple and well, any other patterns that take my fancy. I have two so far in spots and stripes!

Any comments/ideas/Do's and Don'ts on these are welcome!

Wolf Among Sheep. . .

Well then. . . I suppose I should really explain myself!

I've basically decided after making a few things up last week that I should perhaps, make up a few more skirts and sell them!

I got quite a few comments when I wore mine and thought "Why the hell not?" I can sew, I enjoy it and why not maybe try and make some money doing so!

Style wise I'll probably stick to a similar style to begin with, in a variety of patterns and colours, see which work best and such, then maybe I'll venture into other styles and items.

Obviously, if no one buys anything then I'll consider myself a total failure, but for now I'm content with wishful thinking.

So for the time being there will be a lot of 'coming soon' or 'check here for updates' tweets until I have enough stock made up in a variety of patterns before I'll actually start to sell.

I hope that you'll support this venture of mine, tell all your friends and yeah, just keep checking for updates here WolfAmongSheep1

Hanging by a thread?

Thought I would start this blog with a nice little sewing pun there, see if it gives you a slight clue as to what this post will be about. . . .

Yup, you guessed it, last Thursday I dug out my sewing machine from the depths of the wardrobe, dusted it down and got on with some serious business.

My new skirts!

I know the picture doesn't really do either of them much justice, I just couldn't bring myself to put them on and pose!

For these two I basically used an old Primark dress I'd worn once (Stripey: right) and a skirt I bought many many years ago that the zip had broken and the stitching on the waist was loose (Polka Dotty: left) cut them to the length I wanted and pinned them to some thick white elastic!

Once I'd sewn them onto the elastic and made a nice clean seam they were done! I now have two NEW skirts for my wardrobe and spent, well actually I spent nothing as someone else bought the elastic for me and wouldn't take any money for it!

I've got a few other peices lying around my bedroom now that would probably also look good as skirts - I'll keep you posted!!

Camping Trip

Sorry for the delay in posting! I had quite a busy week last week, or maybe I was just being lazy!

I did manage to take advantage of the New Look Facebook deal last week and got myself a nice cami dress for . . . . £1 - Yes, one whole pound!!

Anyway, as the post title mentions - I went camping this weekend in Rossendale, the picture below is of where we were camped for the evening.

Activities on Saturday included, BBQ-ing, chilling out listening to music and generally having a nice time!

Although, no dipping in the water because six days earlier a body was found here!!

It still looked nice though, and when we I took this picture it must have been the first time in a long while that I didn't hear anything, total silence, it was quite special!

Alrighty then, next post I'll get some images of the skirts I made on Thursday! Recycling old dresses and skirts into something I would actually wear.

Long Weekend!

Ahhh, so I'm back!

I've had a lovely long weekend at home visiting family & friends, getting a tattoo, watching the boxing and then a nice day out in Whitby today. Even if the weather was a little overcast, had fun buying chips, Lucky Ducks and silly postcards.

This week, I really will pull my finger out and attempt to do some sewing, honestly I will - even if it is just for blogging material!

Animal Magic

I thought I would do a nice quick post just to show off some of the things I've been wearing this week, trying to brighten up my mostly mundane life!

This is another Temporary:Secretary treat from my goody bag. I like to think of it as 'My Lovely Horse'

And this next one is more about the nails. . . Barry M - bloody love the stuff! I was discussing when I win the lottery how I'm going to walk into a Superdrug store and just walk off with the Barry M cart.

Now unfortunately, I can't tell you either of the colour names as I've had them so long everything has rubbed off apart from the numbers (Yellow: 134 & Pink: 272)

I'm sure you'll have noticed my other Temporary:Secretary piece - the Owl ring! I've often debated wearing my owl jumper, hair grips and ring to see if anyone would point it out or just think I was mental!

So, I'm done - again!!

Peace y'all

P.S I may be quiet over the weekend as I'm going home to get a tattoo and see the family, hopefully I'll get a good Sunday Roast out of it!

John Bishop & Meatballs

So, last night as promised was filled with John Bishop and Meatballs!!

Myself, Alex, Andy and Helen went along to Media City to watch John Bishops Britain being filmed - Media City is very swanky by the way, although the 'Audience Entrance' felt a little bit like the security check in at an airport!

And - it was bloody brilliant! Although I'm sure alot of the jokes we laughed at weren't part of the script and would be too rude for TV! I don't really care, it was fun to watch John Bishop and his sparkly teeth, but also, really cool to see how these things are filmed!

There were a few times when we had to 'just laugh' or 'just clap' which was a bit tedious but other than that I geniunely laughed and fingers crossed they'll use the audience footage from last night and our lovely faces will be seen!

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of my Porcupine Meatballs in Red Wine sauce - we were in a bit of a hurry.

I can assure you though that they were AMAZING!! Helen and Alex won the 'Battle of the Meatballs' and had four each! Me and Andy tapped out after three.

Anyway, that's all for now folks.

Hot Stuff!!

Another day, another post about my meals. . . Nom!!

Here is what I rustled together on Sunday - it had to be quick and tasty otherwise I was hitting the pizza!

This took about five minutes to make - it's basically a vegetable stir fry with noodles - the sauce was a mix of Soy, vegetable stock and a spoonful of Sweet Chilli!

As you can probably tell - using the left over veg from the Pilaf the other day.

This is pretty much what I had again for tea tonight, only with a few strips of frying steak thrown in (which I was too hungry to take a picture of before I chowed down - oops!)

Finally, getting to the reason why I called this post "Hot Stuff!!" This sauce has to be one of my favourite Chilli sauces, I know it's probably not Weight Watcher friendly, but a little bit here and there can't hurt too much, right?

I'd happily put this on all of my meals - excluding breakfast, but I think people may think I'm a little strange!

Anyway, on tomorrows menu is some kind of meatball dish - I'll let you know how that goes!

Oh, and I'm off to watch John Bishops Britain being filmed at Media City tomorrow, maybe I'll post about that too!

Sunday 26 June 2011

Panda Eyes. . .

I have so far failed this weekend to attempt the skirt making, I just didn't get time to go into town and buy the materials, so for now it's on hold!

I went to a BBQ yesterday so I haven't made any yummy Weight Watchers delights to boast about either!

So instead, I thought I'd share a picture of one of my favourite tee's and a pretty little rose necklace I like to wear!

The necklace is a nice Primark find, and the vest is a Leeds Festival steal - although its far too big so I have to wear a brooch on the back to bring it in a little!

So yeah, hopefully I'll pull my finger out this week and have something good to talk about!

Peace y'all

Yellow Rice!!

Ta daaa. . . .

And here it is - my vegetable pilaf. I'd never taken the time to figure out how to make rice yellow before (it just tastes better yellow) and last night I found out, although it's 50/50 as to whether it was the Cumin or the Tumeric?

Anyway, yeah it was bloody lovely! Baby Sweetcorn, Broccoli, Onion, Red & Yellow Peppers, Spring Onion and Garlic!

Apparently this is half the points of a microwave meal, tasted a hell of a lot nicer and only took half an hour to make - score!

I think next on the agenda for blog posts will be . . . The skirts that hopefully I'll attempt to make at some point this weekend!

Now I'm off to help solve a crime with Alex on L.A. Noire

Peace y'all

Weight Watchers - YUMMY!

Oh how I jest. . . For tea tonight I had a Weight Watchers microwave meal - it was rats!

This isn't a regular meal for me, as I am trying my best to freshly cook healthier meals, however, getting in from work at 6.15 on a Wednesday night, it was the last thing I wanted to be doing (Plus we were going to watch Kung Fu Panda 2 at 7.30)

So on the menu tomorrow will be a Vegetable Pilaf - hopefully it will work out well, I've never had a Pilaf before.

I did say that I would post pictures of the things I'm making, so here's what we had on Sunday - Balsamic Roast Chicken, Vegetables and Tagliatelle!

And tomorrow, if all goes well - I'll post a picture of the Vegetable Pilaf!

Peace y'all

Snappy Happy

So here it is. . . One of the many pieces I got in my goody bag - probably one of my favourites.

Now I'm waiting for a suitable time to decide when I can treat myself to another bag of treats. . .

It beats having to decide on what I want (I can be quite indecisive) and they're all guaranteed to be pretty!

Hellooooo . . .

So, this is just a quick post just to say "I'm back!!"

I'm still not 100% sure of what I'm going to be posting on here so for now I'll just talk about what kind of foods I'm making now that I'm dieting . . . A vain attempt to look good for Cyprus in September. Fingers crossed!

I think I'll also post pictures of things that I like, for example I might just post a picture that I posted on Twitter over the weekend of some new jewellery I bought a few weeks back, very pretty stuff from Temporary:Secretary.

Or maybe even the skirts I'm going to attempt to make this weekend - I'll either post about how disastrous that went (or how successful!)

All in all, I'm not sure what exactly I'm blogging on, but hopefully I'll think of some interesting things!

Peace y'all
